We spent a cruisy day driving the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to the Athabasca Glacier/Icefields Centre (see the shots in this post), stopping for the night to camp near the glacier at a provincial campground. Next day we thought we’d contemplate nature at walking speed for a change and hiked up to Nigel Pass (roughly 2200m). Brooding clouds on a far range finally enveloped us soon after we got to the pass, and we ate our lunch hiding in a hollow from the wind while snowflakes landed and melted around us. Quite a change from the deserts of Shaka and Kamloops. [hover for captions]
Very informative article. I’ve found your site via Google and I’m really happy about the information you provide in your posts. Btw your sites layout is really broken on the Chrome browser. Would be great if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the great work!
